Terms of Use

1. What the Service is

CS Lifting provides preliminary crane-selection, crane-information and visualisation tools. It is intended to help users interrogate available crane data quickly. It is not a lift plan, appointed-person service, engineering approval, method statement or substitute for the crane manufacturer’s information.

2. Your responsibility when using crane information

Results are indicative only. Before relying on a result for a lifting operation, you must verify the crane, configuration, duty, capacity and other relevant information against the applicable manufacturer data and the requirements of the competent person responsible for the lifting operation. Site conditions, ground conditions, rigging, wind, load characteristics, obstructions and other factors may affect whether a lift can be carried out safely.

3. Intellectual property

The Service’s software, original interface, original text, graphics, generated presentation formats and the original selection, arrangement and presentation of its compiled data are owned by Connor Smithers or used under licence and are protected to the extent provided by applicable intellectual-property law.

You may use the Service and save or share outputs for legitimate lifting, planning, quotation and operational purposes. You may not reproduce, scrape, extract, republish, sell, sublicense or use a substantial part of the Service, its software or compiled database to create or supply a competing product or database, except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot lawfully be restricted.

4. Manufacturer and third-party information

Crane manufacturer names, trade marks, specifications, load-chart information and source documents remain the property of their respective owners where applicable. Their inclusion does not imply endorsement of CS Lifting. CS Lifting does not claim ownership of the underlying manufacturer specifications merely because those specifications are represented in the Service.

5. Availability and accuracy

We work to keep the Service and its crane data useful and current, but we do not promise that the Service will always be available, error-free or complete. Data, features and crane configurations may be corrected, updated, withdrawn or changed without notice.

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, the Service is a preliminary information and visualisation aid and must not be used as the sole basis for deciding that a lifting operation is safe or permissible. Users remain responsible for the professional and operational checks required for their lifting operation.

7. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to compromise the security or availability of the Service, gain unauthorised administrative access, interfere with other users, or use automated means to harvest the Service or its compiled data on a substantial or systematic basis.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated as the Service develops. The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.

9. Contact and governing law

The Service is operated by Connor Smithers. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. For legal or intellectual-property enquiries, use the contact details published by CS Lifting.
